Welcome to the Ol' Nip's
picture gallery
The Ol' Nip is located just off Highway 49 about
7 miles north of Oakhurst, California, within the
sphere of Yosemite National Park. The property
is one of five commercial properties that comprise
the little town of Nipinnawasee (Valley of the
Deer), a once-thriving gold mining town. The
current incarnation of Ol' Nip was originally built starting in 1979 in
the style of a Western ghost town hotel.
The property has been an historical and tourist
landmark. Many people remember visiting the
Ol' Nip Gold Mining Hotel and Saloon over the years.
The Ol' Nip was purchased by Stephen Olah in 1999. Stephen is
gradually refurbishing the property since that time.
Stephen considers this property to be his 'little
bit of heaven' and has great plans for his remodel.
The hotel sits on 1.59 acres, is zoned commercial
for the use as a retail establishment (click
here to see the allowed uses according to the
Madera County code). The building has two
stories and a basement.
